Welcome Back!!!
Welcome, we are very excited to begin a new school year. Our hope is that much of the new school year stress can be eliminated by making learning both fun and enjoyable, so in our classrooms we strive to make it just that! If you feel at any time that there is something else we can do to help your child further succeed, please let us know. Together we can focus on the success of our most precious resource, our children. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Communication:
Newsletters: Every Monday your child's third grade team will post a newsletter by the end of the day on Class Dojo. This newsletter will provide you with information on what your child is learning in the classroom and will connect you with activities /methods to help your child be successful with his or her learning.
Websites: Additional important information will be posted on the school web site http://ww2.bullittschools.org/BrooksEL/ and on our 3rd grade team website which can be found under the tab “Teams" and then select "3rd grade".
Dojo: Classroom Dojo will provide you with daily behavior progress of your child. There are often reminders of upcoming events sent out on Dojo and you are also welcome to message with any questions you have.
Attendance:
We cannot stress enough the importance of your child’s attendance at school every day. Make-up work is required to be completed upon your child’s return from an absence, but please remember that not everything can be made up (participation, group activities).
Class Participation:
Discipline Policy:
There is a great deal to learn this year, therefore appropriate behavior is required from all students. If students can follow the basic principle of respecting others, all else will fall into place. Our discipline plan this year involves an interactive online website called "Classroom DOJO". Classroom DOJO is a system to monitor a student's behavior, both positive and negative. Each day students will gain positive "DOJO Points" for any positive, on-task behavior and receive negative points if the student does not follow the BEST guidelines (behavior and work habits).
*Not turning in homework on time
*Not respecting others
*Not being prepared for class (no pencil, no book, can’t find assignment...) *Breaking class or school rules
Parents, as well as the classroom teacher, have access to view this site at all times. Please check your child's points each night and discuss your child’s behavior and work habits with them when necessary. Rewarding good behaviors is also very important. Students will have opportunities throughout the school day to earn DOJO points and “Bronco Bucks". Please let us know if you have any concerns. We look forward to working closely with you and your child this school year. We feel certain that this can be a positive experience for your child.
We Appreciate Your Support,
Mrs. Lyle, Mr. Paige and Mr. Greenwell
